Thanks for your great idea. I've been looking for a free meaningful advent devotional to start a tradition with my children. Your calendar inspired me. I used the Christmas unit study that I think someone else recommended http://happyhomeschool.familyclassroom.net/Archives/Holidays/Christmas.shtml . It has a daily devotional for 24 symbols of Christmas. I reduced the font and margins and cut out each daily devotional and then pasted them in their day # card. My children helped me find pictures in old Christmas cards to decorate the daily cards with the appropriate symbol. I had to use some clipart. I used ribbon to tie each card shut until we do that day. Also, I used a hanging folder (all that was on hand). I was able to tie a ribbon to the metal hooks so that I can hang the calendar. When I'm done, I'll hang it back in the file drawer. Tomorrow, we'll have to catch up.

Thanks again.
