Lapbook Lessons

We've been working on our Japanese Lapbook lately, and I just wanted to post a few "Sneak Peeks" at what we're working on!

Totally Cute Right?

I'll be posting all of our Crafts and Activities on our personal homeschool blug, under the tag "Japanese Crafts"
http://thecraftyclassroom.com/blog/

We're just beginning this one, so if anyone has any ideas for mini-books they'd like to see, please leave a comment below!

Blessings,

Valerie

OK, they celebrate Jan 1 more than Christmas (New years is the number one holiday), the first day of Spring, girl's day and the children's day. Now Okinawa is a bit different, they have a good bit of Chinese influence, but belief in ancestor worship and Buddism seem to influence most of the holidays, so I just really suggest being very careful. Eisa Dancers. I would make a special point to say that most of the people here have not heard about Jesus, only about 1% of Japan is saved, so pray for the country. Check out anpan man. He is a superhero made out of bread. The creator is a Christian.

LOL, that's about the only thing I learned!

If you have any other ideas I'd love to hear them, I've got just about every book of our library shelf sitting here on my desk!

Oh, I'm sure you won't be able to contain it all, but at least you can give your kids a foundation to start with. I figured you did know, I just couldn't help but bring up Children's day as it was just a month ago. I think it would be a super fun topic and many neat crafts. Have great fun! I love Japan.

Really! Fun, I love the internet it connects you with people from everywhere!

I did know about the koi, we hope to make a cute little craft with some tissue paper next week! That would be fun to explore the holidays and traditions a bit more, there is soooooo much that I have forgotten or never learned....I don't know how I'm going to contain it all in one lapbook!

Hey, cool! We live in Okinawa. Did you know the picture on your pocket is of the koi fish in celebration of Children't day? You should research Children's day and Golden week. That would make a neat study. I love your artwork
