Lapbook Lessons

I thought I'd give you a few updates on how things are going for our family since the fire.

We just finished our new house plans and are expecting to turn them into the city early next week. We were a bit under-insured and will be building own-builder to save a little money. We did this last time we built the house, so it's not new to us. I'm running around several hours a week getting bids from contractors so we can get a overall budget for what we are looking at for costs. Today, I'm heading off to the roofing and window guys.

Thanks goodness for lapbooking! My two youngest have taken to it very well since the fire and can do them pretty independently. We are doing TOG, but for science I'm just having them choose a topic, we go the library and check out books and they make a lapbook to go along, it's been great. I spend a lot of my free time making components for them to add to there books. I'm loving what they are coming up with. My 8 yos just made up a game we added to his honeybee lapbook, I'll be sharing that soon.

So, for the most part we are busy but school in happening. This was my biggest fear but God has blessed us, as He always does. I'm really glad to be in this little community, it looks like fun and I can't wait to share what we've been doing, but I have to buy a new camera first!

I am so thankful that things are going as well as they are. I know this must be a real stressful time for you so I'm really glad that you found something that works well for your busy schedule. I hope you'll keep us posted from time to time on how it is all going. And I can't wait to see the pictures of your lapbooks (after you get the camera of course!)!
