Lapbook Lessons

Melissa

All play and no work.....after awhile of all work and no play

Our official day of homeschooling will be on Monday, September 15. I would like t start sooner, but circumstances just don't allow us too. We have been busy over the summer. We finished our Plants and Seeds Lapbook, completed our Insects Lapbook, started our new Animal Lapbook (this will be ongoing as we learn about a new animal each week), and started our Space Lapbook. All while doing our English lessons. It was a good and productive summer.

And, I will no longer be working full time. I will only be per diem. But as part of leaving my travel company and signing on with the hospital I was working with, I have to do new employee orientation, which happens to be Sept 4 and 5th. So, no school those days. And we are going on our first huge family vaction September 7-11. So, no school those days either. BUT they will be educational, as we learn about the ocean, and shells, and sea creatures... Oh- and I did I mention that my youngest's birthday is the 2nd, and Nana is coming over on the 4th, and her big party with the rest of the family is on the 5th. And I have to pack on the 6th.....so why do one day of school...right? LOL.

So, hence, school begins September 15.

It will be worth it, and I am so excited to homeschool. I think my oldest is excited about staying home with mom, while little sister goes to Pre-K all day. It will be nice to spend that time with her.....time she never really got when she was younger because I was very sick. (When she was 18 months old, I was told I wouldn't survive the surgery I needed to live- ironic huh? But all part of God's wondrous plan.) So this year will be a great time of healing and bonding for both of us. I am hoping that this will be a time of renewal and self-reflection, and a reminder of what is important in this life.

I will be posting my lapbooks next week- Wednesday I hope. We are going camping this weekend with family.
