I'm trying to come up wtih a "motto" for our homeschool - I'd like it to
be a scripture verse...which do you like the best? (See scripture below...)
I'm thinking we need a name for our school too...so far we have:
"Our Homeschool"
"Hearts of Angels"
"School of Leadership"
"School of Little Hearts and Minds"
(I like these...but we have to remember we have big kids too...and someday the little ones will be big)
I'd like something a little more "professional" sounding...more official, but something
that suits our reasons for homeschooling.
I'm trying to think of what our "school" goal is...what is it we desire to attain by schooling at home?
1) hearts turned toward God
2) protection from the world and the things of the world
3) instruction and education designed to fit the child (rather than trying to put a square peg in a round hole so to speak)
4) a higher standard of education
With those goal in mind, I'd like a school name and motto that fits as well as possible.
(Of course the other thoughts are to name it after a local feature - Mousam River Academy, Kennebunk Home School or even Karen's Home School
{then we could use the KHS insignia!} or name it after our name Petrin Homeschool, Petrin-Garneau Center of Learning, etc.
Or combine our student names into a word...hmmm JBBG...maybe first 2 letters? JoBeBeGa ---lol that won't work!)
Well, you get the idea...be creative, give me you best idea or ideas!
Ideas for school motto:
Let my teaching fall like rain
and my words descend like dew,
like showers on new grass,
like abundant rain on tender plants.
Deuteronomy 32:2
Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
for I believe in your commands.
You are good, and what you do is good;
teach me your decrees.
Psalm 119:66, 68
Teach me, O LORD, to follow your decrees;
then I will keep them to the end.
Give me understanding, and I will keep your law
and obey it with all my heart.
Direct me in the path of your commands,
for there I find delight.
Turn my heart toward your statutes
and not toward selfish gain.
Turn my eyes away from worthless things;
preserve my life according to your word.
Fulfill your promise to your servant.
Psalm 119:33-38a
Teach me your way, O LORD,
and I will walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart,
that I may fear your name.
Psalm 86:11
Show me your ways, O LORD,
teach me your paths;
guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.
Psalm 25:4-5
He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.
All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful
for those who keep the demands of his covenant.
Psalm 25:9-10
Some hard choices, huh?
Blessings! *Ü*
