The kids did the first section of American History lapbook-style today.
It covered Native Americans and Explorers.
If I did it over, I'd use red, white, and blue or some other appropriate colors. It doesn't seem very creative or imaginative. Then again I'm neither. The kids did a good job of looking for info on their own to fill in. I gave more detail about it on my homeschoolblogger Blog.
The basic idea is now down and the kids learned a lot, remembered a lot, especially compared to me reading to them last week. They got more out of it today. I think that is a good testament to the capabilities of "lapbooking."
