The boys slept outside in this car trailer last night to watch the meteor showers. They all got to see quite a few, and all got a fair night's sleep as well. Check out my full post on this at -

Hey! The boys are getting underway on their NC SCRAPBOOK projects. It's a little slower going than I had anticipated, but we're moving! In the meantime we are doing a few mini-books at a time to make a Mammals Lapbook to go with our current Lyrical Life Science studies. After each lesson we are doing a little booklet or somethinganother to go with the animals of that week. I'm putting these aside in a folder to make into a large lapbook at the end of our book. This past Friday we worked on some…

We have been building up with one subject a week for the past four weeks. This week we start North Carolina History. I have one boy in the fourth grade and one in the eighth. In North Carolina public schools those are the years for NC studies. I also have a seventh grader, but he might as well get it over now…

Our family was in the States for about 8 months. The boys attended a small Christian school while there on furlough. We have been back in Brazil for about 2 weeks. This past week we started with some easy copy work assignments. Next week we will add another subject and so on until we are totally up and running. Although we have no big lapbook projects on the schedule for the near, near future, we will be starting on a very big North Carolina History Scrapbook project shortly. I spent our 8 month…

Every Sunday while here in the States we visit one of our supporting churches for their services. My husband gives a report of our recent term of missionary service and preaches. The sermon he has been using in most of our meetings involves dressing one of our boys in a typical Nort…

Snow is something we just don't experience in Brazil. So we were super glad for the "blizzard" of last week in North Carolina. Continue

Just wanted to check in...
My fellows are going to "real" school for the next six months while we are on furlough here in the States. Today was the third day. So far so good. Lots of homework. I've yet to figure how they are in school for more hours than we ever spent in homeschool work and still have tons of homework when they get home??? Who knows. My middle boy has to do a poster about West Virginia soon. I plan on going about it in lapbook style. It will be like a great big flat lapbook! I'…

Hi there, this is something we did at the beginning of this calendar year. All our info came from Lyrical Life Science. All images are magazine clippings and those cards you get in the mail sometimes...

This week I've been waiting and waiting for my oldest to finish his work on this recent biographical project. Each child had to chose a figure from our American Personalities unit study to research in greater detail. Each had to read a book or two about their person, research more o…

I just posted pictures of a research lapbook that my 12 year old did this past June. It was a hard topic for which to find information, but after many hours of web research he pulled it off with a folder full of good stuff!
Most of our best information came from:

I've added pictures of two recent lapbooks from the Atha School for Boys. It was a long week getting these done. My oldest still has a few finishing touches to add to his about Albert Einstein. We'll post those later!

Hello there! I usually post on
You can visit me there for more information on how we homeschool.
I'm new to lapbooking. I have 3 boys and we enjoy reading real books. Living in the interior of Brazil that's a little complicated sometimes! Having a good Internet connection has hindered some of our lapbook research, but recently we were able to get a better set-up. Shortly I'll post some pictures of lapbooks that we have completed.…
