Brenda B I Love You... in 182 Languages - Mini Cards

I just finished creating a unit that is now available on Currclick. These mini cards could easily be used in a lapbook for Valentine's Day, or just a fun thing to study if you don't celebrate Valentine's Day, and would not go against a Christian perspective. It is titled "I Love You... in 182 Languages". Even though these are not lapbook components, they could be added for a nice touch :-) I priced it as low as I am able to... only 50 cents! Here's my

AmericanGirlinBrazil January Check In

January is our busiest time of the year as missionaries in Brazil. December, January and February are the three biggest vacation months. Many people are off from work for the whole month of January. Schools are closed and even many federal and city level offices are on vacation. For us it's work! Retreats out on the island camp! This year we do not have as many as we have had in the past. Some years I have given into the vacation mentality and not even attempted to have school with the boys bet… Continue

Mina Akers Breif lapbooks for US states??? Is that a real thing?

This year, for second grade that is, we haven't really gotten any lapbooks that are full unit studies done. We are trying to get through all 50 of the US states (brief overviews!) and compile "lapbooks" about each state. The lapbooks aren't nearly as detailed as I like to have them for when we do full studies, but it is still a great way to keep all that knowledge in one convenient place :) Alabama

Jimmie I'm back!

Ning has been blocked in China for about a year now. But today I realized that it's not blocked right now! I don't know how long that will last, but woo hoo! It's been so long that I had to re-verify my email with Ning just to sign in. I changed my avatar too! Weird, though. Word Press was unblocked for a while and reblocked recently. You just never know what will work and what won't. It's nice to be back at Lapbook Lessons. Enjoying it while it lasts. Continue

Shannon Widney HELP

Hi, I am VERY new to these Lapbooks but I LOVE them! I'm still very confused on how to assemble these, how long they take to make, does EVERY child make one (or is it completed as a class). I loved your Alphabet Lapbook resources but to be honest I don't know where to put what and how is each letter introduced?!?! It has to be a lengthily on-going project because there are many objectives being introduced and taught (this is what I love about these)! Anyway, I teach 1st grade in a public school… Continue

De Arn Foley Homeschooling families in BC, Alberta &Sask, Canada

We are a homeschooling family of 5 (Daughter 7, Son 3 & Daughter 1), living in Launceston, Tasmania, Australia and planning an extended holiday in Canada at the end of this year. We will be driving from Vancouver BC to Maidstone (Sask) in Sept - Oct, and staying on until January. We'd love to visit with other home-ed families as we journey across this beautiful country (which I consider my second home as it will be my 6th visit and my 3rd host-sibling's wedding we are attending since my Yr12… Continue

Pamela Jano What Is the Deal with My Teenager?

One day my husband was expressing to me his absolute shock at the lack of common sense he'd observed in the young adults in his employ. "You have got to be kidding me! At least show some common sense!" The young adult of whom we were speaking, my husband told me, had not had a sound upbringing. When he was a child, this person's parents were more occupied with conducting their own individual lives than raising their son. He was more like an inconvenient reality than the object of h… Continue

Maclibrarian 39 Clues Novel Series

I am currently working with a group of 5 boys on making a 39 clues lapbook. We have taken information from the Scholastic website novel study guide and done some vocabulary work, map work, deciphering codes, a brief look at the characters, biography of the famous people in the books, travel brochures for the many places the characters visited. We have also looked at various novel study ideas such as the elements of a story. This series of books lends itself well to boys in my opinion, though I a… Continue
