PLEASE PRAY..!

I have a friend who's little boy of 5 is in a critical condition. They live in the countryside and about a week ago the children were out playing. They went near a field they had been told not to go near and the little lad had a farm gate fall on him. The little girl ran back to get my friend (Mum), who fortunately had another friend with her at the time who is a Dr, but when they got to the lad he was not breathing and had no heartbeat. The Great Depression Study

I'm about to start a unit study with my 6 year old daughter (reading level 9 year old) on the great depression. We've recently bought The Waltons on DVD & this has started the ball rolling. I've ordered the books on "The Waltons" but am wondering if anyone has any suggestions of novels or biographies that may be appropriate to read with her based in this time period? Some File Folders...

I hope this is ok to post here. I was just amazed. I signed up on one the sister sites to Lapbook Lessons awhile back. It's File Folder Fun, but I never browsed it to see what was there. Wow, there are some nice file folder files! I will be using more of them in the future, especially the ones for grades 2 and 3 :-) So, for now, these are the first two we decided to put together.
