Hi everyone,
I could use some help. I teach 3 yr. olds and I have a small class of 6. I thought it would be the perfect time to fix some type of memory scrapbook of the important things we do in school those things that stand out ...the holidays, ect.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could do or where I could find free printables. I would really appreciate it.
Thanks, Wanda

I am so silly. I just noticed that we spelled Kittredge wrong on the lapbook cover! Oh dear! I will be ripping and adding more glue.

I will be using some of those mini-books in our lapbook as well. But for those of you interested in what I have you can find the files here...

My son and I just finished a unit on the String Family last week. He had a lot of fun learning about these wonderful instruments and their history (so did I). I got all the ideas and printables for it from
Pamela over at
Joyful Songs. We did a lapbook for it and here's the pics below...

Hey! The boys are getting underway on their NC SCRAPBOOK projects. It's a little slower going than I had anticipated, but we're moving! In the meantime we are doing a few mini-books at a time to make a Mammals Lapbook to go with our current Lyrical Life Science studies. After each lesson we are doing a little booklet or somethinganother to go with the animals of that week. I'm putting these aside in a folder to make into a large lapbook at the end of our book. This past Friday we worked on some…

I have just discovered the joy of lapbooking! We are lapbooking everything but I haven't found a great way to attach the smaller books that go closer to the folds of the file folders. What is the best way to do that? What is the best glue to keep things attached?

We have been building up with one subject a week for the past four weeks. This week we start North Carolina History. I have one boy in the fourth grade and one in the eighth. In North Carolina public schools those are the years for NC studies. I also have a seventh grader, but he might as well get it over now…

I'm going to write this as it is written in my notes. Here goes:
None of it matters. I am reading again, yet hearing for the first time, Brother Frank Laubach (Practicing His Presence-A McB's book she left for me when she visited 9/19-9/23/09). I realize that Martha was worried and anxious about much serving: We are supposed to serve.…

This is a short and quick lapbook we did on Mount Rushmore. We learned about the sculptor Gutzon Borglum, the dates when the sculpture was started, when it was finished, the presidents to be included, problems that arose, and some other fascinating events that happened in between. Also included in the 'booklet' are facts of each of the presidents and various things that they did in their lifetime. I really wanted to make this into a bigger project and lapbook, but it just didn't seem to fit righ…

The page sure is cute but...It is so "busy" it makes the text very hard to read :) I am enjoying exploring and getting to know the material. Looking forward to using more of it. Thanks!
I wish I could send a comment just to the person who designed it or find a way to send comments to site administrators.Maybe with more experience, I'll figure it out!

Here is the entire alphabet using 3 & 4 letter animal words. I plan to use these for spelling. Both capitol and lowercase spellings of each animal. You can get your PDF's
here
At first I will put them in page protectors and have Noah trace the letters, or use his magnetic alphabet to spell the words. Latter on I will cut out all frames and have him spell the words himself.…

Here are a few free vowel word family cards I created. These are the short vowel sounds. You could use them in a lapbook, use them as flash cards. Or you could play a game by printing on cardstock, and making a trail through the house. Get a dice, roll and have the child take that many steps. The one s/he steps on, have them say the word, making sure to praise them each time they get the word right :D I hope you enjoy! Get yours…

Here are a couple of free sight word practice cards I made. I simply chose a few pictures I thought Noah would like, and put them beside the sight word from list 1. There is no rhyme or reason, just adding a bit of color and animation to keep his attention. I plan to put each in page protectors, and seal with tape. Keeping them in a binder, so he can use dry erase marker on them and practice. I thought I would share with you :D There are five different sheets, 15 words total. You can get yours…

School has been back in for awhile, and I never took the time to mention the various websites, books, and pc programs I tried out over the summer, while making my homeschooling decisions. The one that's always been on my
to-do list is the
Time4Learning website. I thought I would let all of you know what I thought about the site. It seems to be a great curriculum that saves a lot of work on us homeschool p…
