Do you remember any good links that you used for gnat, Owl Fly, and Praying Mantis for the Alpha bugs.

Hi Valerie - Congratulations on the safe arrival of little Monkey. He's adorable!

I have a quick question about the penguin lapbook you made for your daughter awhile back. I posted it on the forum but haven't received an answer. Are you willing to look at it sometime? Thanks!

Thanks for all your hard work. I am in awe of all you create and do! You're definitely an inspiration!

Hello Valerie ~ Just wanted to let you know that I am still praying for a safe and healthy delivery for you. You are such an energetic worker, take it easy for these last weeks! God bless you!

Hi Valerie ~ Thanks for checking on me! :)

I have been out of sorts for a while. We were all very sick for about a month, one of those heavy colds where the chest cough and sinuses don't want to clear up. While we were going through that, we were trying hard to finish up school and put together our portfolios before our evaluation on May 29. I don't know what the state requirements are in your state, but PA is rather strict on homeschooling. They like to see samples in every subject, and require quite a bit of paper work. (Our evaluator did like our lapbooks more this year!)

May is also one of the busiest months for my family of musicians. I think we had about 17 concerts and numerous extra rehearsals. Of course, the kids play spring soccer and baseball too, adding practice and game times especially on the weekends. Sorry, I don't mean to complain. Actually, I think we are very blessed to be able to participate in so many wonderful activities!

I have been putting finishing touches on some of our projects from this year to share as soon as I get myself together. I can't wait to fish around and see what all the other moms and teachers have been doing, too!

I hope you and your family are doing well. Is your daughter enjoying her new guitar? Guitar is not one of my best instruments, but I still think they are fun to play. There are many 2 and 3 chord children's songs that she would probably like to play. I guess you are in the last stretch before the new baby comes! Two of my friends recently had babies and I have been enjoying them immensely! I pray that you and the baby are fine, and that your delivery will go well. Thoughts will be with you! :)

Oooops! I seem to have messed up my lovely little button at the end of the wiki page! I was trying to make it link to my profile and I think I accidentally deleted a bit of code - only I don't know which bit!! It said 'click here' to visit me, but the link didn't work. Normally the sort of thing I can easily fix, only not this time..!

I got your message - Congratulations :D . There is always a way to nurse and surf - once the baby has the hang of it a big cushion works wonders for a while - until they start to wriggle more :D Hope all goes well for you. I'm sorry I've not been about for a bit. My spring is going well, but it's been a bit crazy. We are moving house which as you can imagine with 9 of us...! Also I re-discovered photography (say no more..!)

Congratulations, Valerie!!! Your baby looks very cute!

I have a question about the Easter lapbook, (yeah, I'm a little behind). Did you fasten the 2 file folder games into the lapbook? If so, how did you fasten them in? Did you use tape or something?

I'm so happy for you!

Love,
Penney

I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to you and all of the members that share the work they do with their children. I have begun using many of your ideas with my classroom and my students love the lapbooks. The parents are loving them as much as the children I believe. I have received many positive comments of them as we have finished and the children have carried them home. Again thank you for all that you do. Also, I love the crafty classroom and have shared it with my colleagues.

Hi Valerie! Congrats to you and your family! Growth is wonderful and scary. I am commenting here to Thank You with abundance for all you do. I had twin boys 2 years ago (in May) and I have a 5 year old daughter. When I was faced with staying home with her before starting K, I was terrified. She had been in private schools (daycares really) that had done all the work for me. I was so afraid that I would not have her prepared to start school. After that little bit of background information, I am so proud to say that she is ready! I use to like the phrase "Make every moment a learning moment".....now every moment at our house is a (to quote my daughter) "let's make a lapbook about...." Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

We are exploring homeschooling as an option for our family, so far we're liking what we see, and we hope to at least keep the children home for the early years.

We started using lapbooks as a way to learn some fun Preschool, and Kindergarten skills, and I found them so helpful that I decided to start this site to help others get started using them.

I hope that this site will be useful for you as you go about your homeschooling, and if you have any questions or feedback you can email me personally at Valerie@lapbooklessons.com

Today we started working on our Family Safety Lapbook. This is going to be a joint effort between both of my children (Sissy 6, and Bubba 3). We'll add one or two items to this lapbook weekly, until we've covered all of our family rules and safety plans.

Kit Kittredge Lapbook

This is a Kit Kittredge Lapbook based on the Movie that was just released this Fall 2008.
