- About Me:
- First of all, I'm a daughter of the King! I'm also a stay at home wife and mom. My husband and I have been married for nearly 18 years and we have 2 beautiful boys, Colt (15) and Riley (4). We live on a farm in Central Texas where we raise organic veggies and grass fed chickens. We've been homeschooling for 4 years and love it! The kids/house/farm keep me busy, but when I can, I like to crochet, knit, sew and scrapbook.
Our homeschool approach is a bit ecclectic. I use a variety of resourses, most of which we find at garage sales, thrift shops and free online. This has worked well for us. We also get a few old textbooks from my parents, who are both teachers. We are currently using Apologia for Science, some Abeka and a bunch of mish mash. We will start homeschooling our 4 year old this fall .
We are trying to build up our farm to make is sustainable and we live a pretty traditional lifestyle. We are very conservative, yet a tad "crunchy"...lol! We, as a family, are learning traditional crafts such as soapmaking, cheesemaking, making yogurt, etc, from scratch. It's another part of our homeschooling. It's also a great way to spend time with the family! We love gardening and working with our animals as well.

I miss them, too. We didn't get to see each other much after baseball season, but I so miss Kathy's recommendations for homeschooling and her insight!! How are they in Missouri? They sure have missed out on some excitement the last couple of weeks with 2 hurricane evacuations!!
Yes, I know Kathy. I met Kathy through our Yahoo group, then at a HEART Homeschool Park Day. Jack was Jeremiah's Little League Coach this past Spring!
