We've just wrapped up our studies on The Oregon Trail, and I've put together a lapbook to go alongside it! The minibooks would be great for any Westward Expansion Theme, Early American, and Pioneer themes as well.
You can see photos and download the files from this page in our site:…

I've just put up two new Prince and Princess mission lapbooks for your little ones. These are perfect for when you are expecting a new baby, and y…

This is a Kit Kittredge Lapbook based on the Movie that was just released this Fall 2008. Kit Kittredge: An American Girl was based on the American Girl books by Valerie Trip, but I'm not sure how "related" the movie is to the books because we haven't read them yet. The movie was super cute, so we just had to make a lapbook f…

I'm working on updating and adding to our Lapbook Template section. These are some fun Bible Verse Pockets you can use for storing children's verse cards with. Just glue the sides and the bottom and keep the memory verse inside
I've just revamped the "Bible Lapbook" page so that you'll be able to see small thumbnails of the minibooks before you print them. I've also added a Bible Lapbook Title Page and a Bible Names minibook.

know the 4 layers, identify at least one animal from each layer, know where the rainforests are located on a globe, and as such know where the equator is, and finally understand the climate...the last should be easy as it is the opposite of the arctic unit we just did!
we're having alot of fun with it, and if you care to read it, I posted a blog on my page earlier...just click my picture or blogroll above.

When I first joined this group, I didn't know what I was doing, so I posted some blogs asking other how they do it...
this was my first one: How do yOU Create your lapbooks?, and you will be able to read the responses I got to that one.
Then I asked, How do you balance curriculum and lapbooking?
and then most recently I asked about objectives others might have
You'll see many varied responses, because as I said you develop your own system/process as you go along.
I wouldn't worry too much that you aren't doing enough...your children are still young, and they are gaining knowledge from you daily!
Let me know if I can be of any more help!
Blessings,

I like to start my "theme" with a book or books. But long before that, I research other peoples lapbooks on the subject I want to do...I download things I like, bookmark things, etc. and when I feel I have enough, then I look it over and adapt it to my kiddos. At some point I think about what it is I want my little ones to take away from the lessons...what my objectives are...because that is where I will focus.
Then when I have that all straight, we'll start learning, doing, singing the topic...and then I'll start figuring out what books/folds etc. I think will work for the different objectives.
I've done a couple blogs on my process...but I will say that for the most part I think each person make their own process in time.
How many lapbooks have you done? We've only done 4, and we're working on our 5th study now. For me, I think my process has changed and developed with each lapbook we do.
I can help you utilize the site, just tell me what you are looking for...or any questions you have...we are both online now so I can do my best to help you out!
How old are your children?
Blessings,
