First-Aid Lapbook

My good Friend Hubby replaced my defunct camera this weekend (yea!) so I was finally able to share some pictures of our First-Aid lapbook. This is only my second lapbook ever, so I am expecting to getter better from here. We decorated the cover with First-Aid clip art and made a magnetized closure from a bandage-shaped magnet we got from a health fair.

First Two Lapbooks

I haven't yet taken any pictures, but we have completed our first lapbook and are now working on a second one.

The first one was just for my daughter. She is 8 years old and has begun the book called Polished Cornerstones and the Keepers At Hom handbook. The first scripture she has had to memorize for them was Proverbs 31:10-31. We checked a book out of the library called God's Wisdom for Little Girls and made pockets for each character trait discussed in the book. Then she… Continue

I have recently discovered lapbooks. I am homeschooling two 10 yo boys and an 8 yo girl. One of the boys is fresh out of public school and the classical homeschooling method is all "Greek" (terrible pun) to him. He needs a way to retain all the new knowledge he is obtaining. The 8 yo is VERY craft oriented, but also very mess oriented. She needs a creative outlet that she can close up and put away when she is done.

I plan, over the next couple of weeks, to begin two lapbooks on Ancient Greece for the 8 yo girl and one of the 10 yo boys and an Ancient Rome lapbook for the other 10 year old.

I am not very artistic so I plan to use a lot of free clip art. Today I also realized another helpful source. I own the Usborne Internet Linked World History Encyclopedia and the Usborne Internet Linked Science Encyclopedia. On their website where you go to links, there are downloadable items like maps and other images, such as a food chain or a deciduous leaf, etc.

I am going to buy the folders tomorrow and get started. I'll let you know my progress!

Blessings!

This is a Kit Kittredge Lapbook based on the Movie that was just released this Fall 2008.
