We're a little behind, catching up from holiday mess-up of our schedule :), but we're still working on the AlphaBugs with the younger three. One of the older girls decided to do the geneology lapbook & is just taking off on her own. The oldest is doing notebooking rather than lapbooking and is researching a paper on Pythagorus (of the Pythagorean theory) by her own choice. I hope to learn much from her paper!:) We're hoping to really get into our Ancient Greece studies now that we're mostly done with "'Twixt Egypt and Greece" (a study of the Mespotamian civilizations like Babylon & Persia), using the Bible as our "spine".

Well, we are working on three lapbooks at the moment. One on the heart that will take a week. One on Colonial times that will take a few weeks. The last one is an overview of the old testament that will take a couple of months. I plan to almost all my science and history in lapbook form the rest of the year. I have a few fun ones, like birthdays and holidays that we will through in to break up the monotuny of school. My kids also have a choice weather they want to do a lapbook or report for their presedent or state they choose to do.

Hi. Our lapbooking is not really taking off as I wished it would. DD seems to like the notebooking method better. Anyway, she is working on the Vikings for the month of January and oceanography for the month also.

For social studies, she is using Hot Tea month of January as a springboard. Looking up info about tea and its uses and customs of uses around the globe.

She is much more relaxed and is really learning this way. So glad we switched over! :))

My daughter is Reading American Girl: Addy and will be doing 2 lapbooks: The American Civil War, Slavery in the U.S. (abolitionists, underground railroad, and the life of slaves) and EarthWorms. All of this will stem from the American Girls Addy series.

We are still lapbooking and notebooking SOTW. We have read several chapters and added the mummies lapbook, Heroes and Gods of ancient Sumer, and we are about to start another. I just noticed the photography info. We will be putting that in. We are also going to start researching forensics. Clara is 11 and very interested in the topic. I am not sure which direction we will go in with this....we will see. Every time I think I might get things organized she mentions something else. Oh well, that's why we homeschool! Let's just roll with it.

We just finished a lapbook on "Little House on the Prarie". We are working on a lapbook/notebook combo on penguins at the moment. We are also doing a notebook on earthscience - working on the astronomy section at this time. We've just started notebooking at lapbooking, so we are kinda in the "baby stages". We hope to do more in the future though!!!!

Hi all - We did a Bat lapbook that included a Novel Study of the book Silverwing just before Christmas and are in the early stages of a Solar system book. It wil be in a Binder not a lapbook as it is going to be too big for the lapbook format. It still includes all the elements of a lapbook. We have left the Sun and Mercury and are moving on to Venus the Godess of Love. Perfect for Valinitines. Looking to incorporate Gods , Jesus Love into this part of the project and ideas and links are welcome. Thanks A
