Lapbook Lessons

Has anyone heard of this system? It sounds really great. It's a great organizational system, which I need :) I noticed that Curriclick sells it. Has anyone out there used it?

If you go to Carisa's site http://1plus1plus1equals1.blogspot.com/ she has blogged about this. Also, I just started this system, and I really like it. Here are a couple more sites that talk about it:

Hope this helps!

I bought the book... and we are implementing the system in the morning... except I am using drawers (those 3 drawer sets from Walmart, didn't have room for all the boxes).. I am really looking forward to it and I think the kids are excited to see what is in the drawers to work on... I'll let you know how the first day goes... =)

I also ordered mine from Sue's website... It came within the week after I ordered it and I read it that night...

This is our third week. I have a sidebar on my blog with some posts - look for wonderful workboxes. :)

Just type "workbox" in the search feature :)

I learned about it through a friend and the FIAR message boards. I got the eBook printed out and then wire bound at Staples for $2.50. I learned so much from everyone's blogs that I started using them Mon. this week before having any of the supplies. WE LOVE THIS SYSTEM! My 2 younger kids have been eager every day (last 3) to get to school and see what they "get" to do. It has been an answered prayer for us. I just got the supplies (student pkg) yesterday but haven't used it yet. I am excited to finish the book, get all the "tools" in place and really get down to business.

I chose to buy larger boxes (not the shoe box size) so I can only fit 8 on my shelves from Target. I double up on assignments. For example; in a math box it will have his curriculum for that day plus something like Math Bingo or Mighty Minds tiles and a few patterns to follow. In his Phonics box (Explode the Code) it might include a Phonics Board Game. This is working out great! Plus I have a shorter stack of boxes at the end of the day. :O) I like the larger boxes because my workbooks etc. lay flat. I am really picky about my books getting warped. (A pet peeve, ha)

So, to answer your question, YES we are using them. (In fact I am setting up my 13 year olds box too, he used them yesterday and seemed to enjoy it. ) I would purchase the supplies from Sue Patirck's website to support her ... I guess she gets paid when it is sold elsewhere but it seems like it'd be a bigger profit through her own website. The supplies were mailed to me very quickly too. The eBook was in my inbox within a few hours.

Good Luck!

We are also in the process of implementing this system at our house. Mochacoffeequeen, which boxes did you get at Target? I also don't like the books bending. So far all I have done is the check in/out chart---lol.

We just started it about 3 weeks ago. The first 2 weeks were great, now we're trying to get back into things after the break, and it's been a bit slow. Still, my son is working a tad more independant and he sees that I'm not just throwing more and more work at him. When he's done, he's done.

still trying to figure out how it all works? Are their different boxes for each subject for each day? so you would need that many boxes PER kid? and you have to fill them with what? Their workbooks? I guess I am lost..... off to figure it out a bit more.

I bought the book last month and set it all up 2 weeks later. We use a 10 drawer cart on wheels instead of a shoe rack with 12 boxes. We have been using the workboxes a week and a half now and ds loves it. The day has been running a lot smoother since everything is better organized.

What ages are you using this for??
Mine are 16, almost 14, almost 10 and 6....would this be a benefit to them??
I'm always looking for organizational ideas...you'd think after 11 years of this, I'd have it down pat... :)

Thanks!
Laurie
