Kit Kittredge Lapbook

This is a Kit Kittredge Lapbook based on the Movie that was just released this Fall 2008. Kit Kittredge: An American Girl was based on the American Girl books by Valerie Trip, but I'm not sure how "related" the movie is to the books because we haven't read them yet. The movie was super cute, so we just had to make a lapbook for it! You can print what you need from this page here

The movie is a little different according to my DD9: there is no mystery, no librarian, no magicians, no treehouse, no little hobo girl/boy, no one robs Ruthie's family, and no mention of hobo crimes.

Book Real--she actually does get published in the newspaper, they find Grace the dog, Ruthie & Sterling are her best friends, Will the hobo does work for them and they do visit his camp. They hop a train in 1 book & get put in jail b/c the police think Kit is a hobo boy hopping freight cars! Also, her Dad really does lose his job and leaves for Cincinnati, but comes back. In the meantime the family does take in boarders.

Overall, she loved the movie; she just expected it to be exactly like the books! I love the books because they are a great way to help kids' understand what life was like in a certain time period, & are so much richer than a textbook!
