Lapbook Lessons

Hi I am new to homeschooling and new to lapbooking. I have a 6, 4,2and 1 yr old. Love the idea of lapbooks but am unsure of how long you should take to complete one ie should it take a week or a whole school term. Also how many would you be doing at one time? Do people do one for each subject they are studying?

Honestly, so many people do it different. It really doesn't matter. You can pick a topic that goes along with what you are studying, and take as long or little time that you want. We have took one day to put a lapbook together, we've also took a few days, a few weeks, and some it took a month or two. You can also make a lapbook that has nothing to do with what you are studying. I do this sometimes when one of my kids seems really interested in something that I have no plans of doing a lesson on. You can do one, or many at a time. I have a large family, so we've had two or three going at one time, and other times... only one. Lapbooking is SO flexible. You can do whatever you want, but most important, what your child enjoys :O)

With my oldest we did one per week in K. Spent about 2 weeks on each lapbook in 1st grade. Now (2nd) we are spending 2-4 weeks per lapbook. We only do one at a time per child. My current preschooler does one per week.
