Lapbook Lessons

I have been home preschooling my son for the past two years. This year we are doing project-based learning, that is we're choosing a topic and immersing ourselves in the project for as long as he is interested. We just finished Space and we are not starting Medieval Times.

He started a Knights lapbook and will probably complete it soon. I'd like to create a Dragons lapbook, a Waepons lapbook, and a King Arthur lapbook. I'm having trouble finding anything for those topics...any suggestions?

Hi! welcome :-) Do you know about HomeschoolShare? That site has lots of free labooks and a huge variey :o) I wish I could be more of a help but I've never even thought about doing a dragon or weapon lapbook. (Great idea though!) Maybe there are some examples on this site... you've got me thinking now...

Thank you...yes, I've gotten a bunch of great links from HomeschoolShare! My son is really enjoying the "Knights" lapbook we're working on now and he has said he'd like to do more...so, I would like to make more within the medieval theme.

I found some dragon resources but they all link to specific story books (i.e. Magic Tree House or Dav Pilkey's silly dragon books).

Thank you though for your reply...I've kept checking back here and nothing! So I was glad to see your reply. :)

Yes, the site has been a little slow lately. I think everyone is trying to get a good start into the new school year before starting on lapbooks... maybe? Just a guess. I've been thinking about your dragon resources and this is what I found so far that maybe could be used in a lapbook:

Dragon word searches, dot-to-dots, mazes, and coloring pages (realistic and cartoonish)

Dragon theme units, clip art, handwriting practice, tally graphs, and a bunch more

Another good site for lapbook and notebook resources is Homeschool Launch. They have a search bar on the site.

It is quite a hard topic to find anything on :-( Anyway, just wanted to drop in and give those links...

Hey again... I just followed your links to your blog and see that you are already aware of these websites :o) Sorry to bombard you with stuff you already know, lol. I like abcteach a lot too. I had a subscription to the site last year but chose not to renew this year because I had lots of stuff downloaded and saved from the site. I like your blog, I'll bookmark it. I have several blogs (one on HomeschoolBlogger, etc), but not on Blogger. I just recently started one there but haven't posted yet :o)
