Lapbook Lessons

Hi Friends,
I was thinking about setting up a chat...or encouraging Valerie to set one up...but then I thought about the different time zones we are all in, and I got curious about where we are all located...

I wondered if there was a way to set up a map for people to put a pin in - has anyone seen those on the 'net? It doesn't have to be specific, just a general idea...what state of the US, what county in England...that kind of thing.

Is anyone else interested? We could always just post here too...We could make it a "scavenger hunt" - geography lesson...LOL by giving clues to where we are rather than naming the place...for instance, someone in New York might say they live where Lady Liberty stands...though that is an easy one... some of us might have more obscure landmarks, and older children could even get in on this game...what do you think?

I'll start...George and Barbara have a vacation home near me. (If that's too hard, let me know and I'll give you another hint...if you know the answer, you can post back with it, and a clue to your location.)

Have fun!
Blessings,
*Ü*

Texas?

I live in a country that has recorded civilization going back 6000 years.
There's an "Awesome" Wall here too.

Easy, I know.

Nope...not Texas...that is their primary residence...I live near their vacation home on the East coast.

Massachusetts? (I'm totally guessing here!)

Nope, not Mass...hmmm, do you know what the W is for in Pres. Bush's name? I've figured out where you are, but I'm going to see if anyone else wants to join in on this. (Jimmie, if you are dying to know what I am referring to, comment me on my page, and I'll let you know...then we can delete the comments so someone else can guess.) *Ü*

Walker. Is Walker a place?? Yikes, is it Walker? Now I'm second guessing myself! How do I not know this?

I think this is a wonderful idea, I'll get a map up so we can all add things to it. I want to have scheduled chats as well, something we can set up in the near future!

Okay, in my state, we don't pump our own gas.......lol, it's funny when we visit neighboring states because I'm sitting there at the gas station, like "Man, what is taking these people so long?" lol

Valerie got my home: Maine! Now...I know where Jimmie is located, but Jennifer and Valerie didn't guess their places....so I'll leave that for them to post.
However, Jennifer, could you clarify - is KBC Knowledge Box Central? - It must be, I found the lapbook you refer to, but I haven't a clue which woman in particular I would research to find your location.
Valerie, there are 2 states in the nation that you could be in, so you may want to specify which coast...but I'll hazard a guess...watch for my comment on your page (then delete it...so someone else can guess.)
We're so sneaky... *Ü* this is fun!

yipee! Now I know the woman you are referring to...so I will comment on your page my guess, and then you can delete it and let someone else guess. However, I now have an errand to run, so I'll be back during naptime!
Blessings on your day!

Well, I know nobody pumps their own gasoline in Oregon, so that's my guess for Valerie. I'm entering the conversation slightly late...however, here's my clue. I live in the Central Time Zone, and my husband tells me that one of our lakes has more coastline than the state of California. With all the coves and inlets that people like to vacation on, I think it's probably true! (I can give more hints if you need them, but someone might like a challenge!)

Aww, good guess. I suppose I needed to classify that a little better. Time for another hint.
