Lapbook Lessons

Ok, here's the thing. I have a rather bright 3 year old boy. He's really into Superman so I was going to make a "Superman" themed lapbook of info. he needs to know. Well, he already knows his shapes, colors, alphabet, and numbers (including 1 to 1 ratio). Any other suggestions for what kind of content I can put in this lapbook for him?

On the contrary, I have an extremely bright 18-month old who I am going to put all the above content in with a "Blue's Clue's" theme. When I'm done with both, I will post the final product incase anyone else is interested! :)
Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Sounds like some fun learning!

For you're superman perhaps you can get something from the following ideas

Sounds of Letters

Verbs (pictures of Superman doing something....walking, running, flying....ect)

Character....like rules for Super Heros or something

Short Sight Words Matching Game (I, am, at ect.....) with pictures of Superman

How to draw the Superman "S" (used to do this as a kid for my younger brother), if he's a bit young to do it, use toothpicks and glue it to one you drew for him.

That's all I can think of now, if I think of anything else I'll post!

Blessings,

Valerie

I never thought on this before but one thing did pop into my head when I read your post. You could also do a small section with some comparison and show a few other types of 'Heros' such as firefighters, police, military men and women, etc. Good luck, and please do post some pics when you are through... sounds very interesting!!!

How about Superman Size Sequencing? Like make a game where he can order smallest to largest (make it tough if he's good at it already :)

Here's a superman logo you could use for it

Take a family poll, "Whos' your favorite supperhero?" and write about what each person said.

The Dollar store has supperhero puzzles and stickers, you could add a puzzle in a small pocket or let him decorate with stickers.

Here are some cute Blue's Clues graphics (http://www.disneyclips.com/imagesnewb6/bluesclues.html), though they didn't have any superman. You could do "S is for Superman and..."

I'm doing a Littlest Pet Shop book for my 6 year old. I'm doing a lot "normal" activities but decorating with the Littlest Pet Shop clipart. Like she needs to work on adding and subtracting faster in her head so I made math flash cards and decorated with the LPS pictures.

My girls are very bright too, so I'm trying to remember what I did with them when they were 3...(which wasn't long ago so you'd think I'd remember. LOL)

Maybe you could do something about Superman flying in the sky and make it into a weather activity.

You could make simple sight words flash cards and decorate with superman. Or you could make a matching game where you put 2-3 letter words on top of superman and print 2 of each and then he has to match them.

You could make different colors of superman and make patterns where he has to either match the pattern or figure out which color would come next.

You could make a file folder game where he has to match the number of supermen to the correct numeral.

Also, I've learned with my girls, that as they start learning a lot of new stuff they still need a lot of review of the stuff they've already learned. So it wouldn't hurt to put some stuff in it that he knows but will enjoy reviewing, like the alphabet. Or you can make tracing cards where he can practice writing/tracing the letters of the alphabet.

You could also add lacing cards or you could make an activity where he can learn to tie Superman's cape. I did this with my DD's Cinderella book. I printed up a coloring picture of her gown. I punched 2 holes in it where the ribbon around the dress waist is and put ribbon through it. I then glued it down to the folder and my DD uses it to practice tying.
