Help Finding USA Lapbook material

We are using My Father's World curriculum - studying a country a week. This week is the USA. I cannot find any FREE lapbook resources for this (I could piece together stuff I guess - but I'm new at this). Help! Thanks! Anna

I really want to send you an document that I adapted from Homeschool Share. But, I'm having trouble downloading it. So, I will just send you to the link that I used. Keep in mind it is only for Massachusetts. And this is only one item for the lapbook. So, I do not have a direct answer, but it might help you to get started...

Have you ever seen this page? www.50states.com Choose your state and then, for each state, I especially like the Economy entry; Fast Facts; Flag; Flower; State Bird; Biographies; Motto; Nickname; State Quarter; Tree; Weather; and Zip Codes. There are many more things you can find out about each state as well.

Hope this sparks some ideas for you if you still haven't found anything.

If you go to homeschoolshare.com and click on the lapbooking tab, free lapbooking, then scroll to multi age box under that you will find Choose a country. I have just picked a few templates that we do for every country that we do. Then we make shape books, color books in theri langauge and other geography pages from the world geography book they use in MFW to make each one unique. For example for USA we made a lift a tab for the great lakes. We wrote the acronym HOMES on the from then pasted a picture of the lake and the name underneath. I got that sheet from the world geography book. Then for Canada we made a shape book from skate and she is going to write about skating in it. For Mexico we found color pictures on the internet in their traditional dress and we colored and pasted them in our lapbook.

I felt really overwhelmed at first too since this is my 1st time doing lapbooks, just start. We have done 3 now and we are getting better each time. I have my child do all the little booklets first and then make the lapbook as big as I need to fit it all in. I found it too hard to plan it all out first.
