Lapbook Lessons

Who's going to lapbook through the summer? Any particular themes or topics?

We are going to finish up Insects this week and go with Ants next week. After that we plan to do Outer Space and Dinosaurs. We are also hoping to do a unit and lapbook for Petunia with a focus on farmers/farm life.

We'll be doing our Little Laplinks meme through the summer.....looks like the winner of the poll so far is Bugs and Insects (btw, do you have lapbooks on HS for this topic?)

I'm also hoping that we'll get around to.....

Marine Life (or maybe even Estuaries)
Zoo Animals
Dinosaurs (me too! I'm sooooo using the one on HS)

That is so funny that you mention Petunia, because we're going to use that book as part of a Character Study on Wisdom! My kids love that book (the one with the goose that doesn't actually read the book....just carries it around and thinks she's wise, so maybe even a little Pride issues too!).......what a great lesson you can draw from that, can't wait to see what you do with it!

Blessings,

Valerie

As for bugs & insects, we have two (so far...more coming in July!) :)

Butterflies Lapbook

Honeybees Lapbook

We have tons of marine life...I posted it somewhere on this forum. :) We are getting lots more marine life as well and two of the lapbooks are specifically preschool.

Zoo Unit Study --this has a few lapbooky things, but it (along with dinos) were the first two I ever made, and I need to go back and rework somethings! :)

Petunia Unit Study & Lapbook We really enjoy Petunia, too. :)

I hope to revamp Dinos a little bit this week. We'll see...

Hey look at that, you've already got a Petunia Lapbook....and with Wisdom and Pride too! Perfect! I'll be pointing people to that webpage for sure!

I'm soooo checking out all those great links, this bugs and insects could really turn into a huge undertaking for a lapbook...going to have to try real hard not to get carried away!

revamping Dinos? Hmmm, sounds interesting....was there a new discovery :)

About dinos...

Not revamping the lessons...I just don't like the lapbook so much. It was one of the first ones I did, and I really did not know what I was doing. I'm not sure how much I'll get done...we will see. :) Ami

My son wants to do one with an ocean theme and I plan on doing a wordless lapbook. He's been asking a lot of questions lately about salvation, so I thought a wordless lapbook would be a fun way to explain it to him. I would also like to do the Little Laplinks one on bugs, but I'll be having a baby on June 23rd so, I'm not sure how much we'll get done.

Ooooh! Please share your wordless plans with us once you get going. I'd enjoy doing that one with ds as well. :)

May I ask what exactly is mean by wordless lapbook. I guess Im just not grasping the concept with the name.
