Lapbook Lessons

July 2008 Newsletter

This months we've got some great new features to share with you, that are sure to make our group easier and more fun to use!

NEW Quick Add". If you haven't already noticed the new Quick Add box in the upper right hand corner, now is the time to check it out. This is your gateway to many quick links around our site, so the next time you need to make a quick blog post, or upload some photos, be sure and use these quick links to speed things up a bit!

NEW Who's Online & Instant Messaging After your done checking our the quick links, look a little lower, and you'll see photos of all the members that are currently online and viewing the website. And if that wasn't cool enough, you now have the capability of Live Instant Messaging with these group members. Simply click on the persons profile photo to open a chat box and you've got a great way to ask someone a quick question or start up a conversation. And of course you can "Hide" your photo by clicking on your own photo and changing your settings accordingly.

NEW Event CalendarWell after toying around with the Event Calendar for a while, I've finally found a nice spot to keep all of our Site happenings. You can check our our Calendar on the right, and you'll notice that we've got a LapChat coming up this Tuesday the 15th. This Calendar is not just for me to post my Happenings! You're more then welcome to add your own events....(Birthdays, Upcoming Field Trips, 1st day of School, ect....) We'd love to see some more events added, so let us know what's going on in your world!

This Month's Featured Member is Sako! Sako is a homeschooling Mom of two, one in Kindergarten and one in Pre-K and she is using lapbooking methods along her journey. You can see some of Sako's lapbooks from her profile page, including a Pre-K Human Body Lapbook, and a Good Night Moon Lapbook. Sako also has a personal blog where you can read more about her lapbooks, and see more of her daily homeschool adventure with her two adorable children! So be sure and stop by and congratulate Sako for winning this months Featured Member Prize!

As a featured member Sako will receive a $15 gift certificate to www.CurrClick.com, where she can pick up some more great homeschooling resources for her family.

Upcoming LapChat!

Our July LapChat will be scheduled for tomorrow, July 15th at 8pm pacific. Yes, you read that right, tomorrow...for some of you....Today. I know I seriously slacked about getting the word out about this, but in my defense it's been on the Events calendar for at least a week....so if you're ever wondering if something fun is coming up, be sure and check out our Events calendar (And of course add your own upcoming events too!)

If your looking for a way to keep your children home, Connections Academy can help! Connections Academy is a Free k-12 Public schooling program that students attend from home. Connections isn't available in all states, so check availability in your state. Be sure and request your free information packet to learn more about how the free curriculum programs works!
